2016 National Convention – This was the inaugural National Convention of AOGSSA USA Inc. Alumnae representatives came from all over the world, including Nigeria, Ireland, the UK, as well as the different States of America.
- Venue – Hilton New York JFK Airport Hotel, Jamaica, NY
- Date – Thursday, August 4th – Sunday, August 7th
- Keynote Speaker – Rev. Sr. Mary Theodore Neville, one of the premiere Principals of OGSS. She represented the historical commission of the Holy Rosary Sisters from Ireland with the singular purpose of educating girls in West Africa. They were forced to return to Ireland as a result of the Nigerian Civil War.
Activities included:
- Meet ad Greet sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Ochei
- Luncheon hosted by Mary Joan Spiff Ononaji
- Evening Cruise on the Hudson River
- Highlights of the Convention included the Election of the First National Executive Officers
- Keynote Address on the origins of OGSS and the Holy Rosary Sisters from Ireland
- Presentation of the state of OGSS by Barr. Ngozi Idih
- Adoption of a resolution to embark on the construction of a classroom block or other building projects
